Color Mood: Green

Design

It’s not only that green is my favorite color, and that i’m entirely IN LOVE with green interiors; but it’s also the actual fact that green has a great psychological effect on our moods when it comes to spaces.

Interior spaces with the color green makes us instantly feel safe and relaxed… It is considered the most restful color for the eye and good to be said, it fits every room on your house, office and even restaurants and hotels.

The appliance of green, just like any other color, can be a situation of hit or miss… Obviously is not like white, that can be used in every piece of your room; the excessive utilization can turn out to be oppressive and incommode.

That’s the reason why green is best applied as a detail color, specially in a natural way, like plants that provide deviously different shades of green.

Personally, I am obsessed with eclectic interiors with color combinations of black, white, ochre and green. As in all white walls, black details, ochre furniture and to take the place of green, plants… Lots and loooooots of plants!

The Power of Interior Plants: Facts and Types.

Design

Flowers can bring life to any room or space, either at home, office, restaurant, bar…

“A vase with fresh cuts can do wonders to make even the dullest of room look lively and vibrant” (via Interiordesignideas.com)

This might be one of the most inexpensive detailing object on interiors just by taking in consideration all the good effects they offer to your space, it’s all worth it. Plants are the only detailing object that will always make perfect match with all the styles and tendencies that have ever existed.

Many people try giving color to their designed spaces with canvas art and other colored pieces, but it’s good to remember that all these artifacts are never as vivid as living plants. And now I’m just not talking about cut potted flower bouquets.

They are very versatile. You can always use interior plants and flowers as table centers, auxiliary decor, details, for many many purposes (aesthetic or even health purposes)

They also have the ability to provide people with unique oxygen, absorbs dangerous gases and substances that hold up the dust, save from the city sound. Indoor plants make the essential psycho-emotional comfort and reduces stress, so in the interior of your space they live in an important place. Plants have a number of properties that have a positive crash not only on the image of your house or office, but also on the daily work of the people.

One ridiculously important thing to take in consideration is the exchange of flowers once they start to fade, they can make your house be exposed with bad vibes and bad impression. Just go buy a new bouquet, try different types of flowers with different colors. Or you can better opt for those beautiful potted plants that are so easy to grow and maintain.

“Your job is to only water them, keep them pest free and show them the sunlight every once in a while if you homes are dark. There are also indoor flowering plants which you can look for at the nursery. These too work wonders for you!” (via interiordesignideas.com)

This is a list of some of the most used plants on interiors:
*African Violets: they are very famous for being the balcony and garden flower but they are also great for interiors since it gets easy for them to take advantage of artificial lighting. It’s multiplied by seeds and should be watered two or three times a week without exceeding. It’s a really delicate plant. Never ever water the flower of leaves directly, just apply the water directly to the land.

*Columnea: It’s not sun friendly, since it’s an interior plant.. Looks great hanging. Changes color. This plant shouldn’t be watered with a lot of frequency but your space should be quite damp.

*Azaleas:
Mostly used for it’s great colors and quantity of flowers. Different colors. It’s actually an exterior plant, but given it special cares, can be adapted on any space. (Should be in indirect contact with the sun and watered with great abundance; and if it’s possible with rain water)

*Gardenias: Aromatic. Not sun, cold or water friendly. With maintaining them on interiors with dump land and space is enough.

*Orchids: Sun friendly. Always keep on bright places. Even though it required some contact with the sun, never ever keep it directly. Plant pot should have stones on it and be watered daily and delicately, so it can keep the necessary water to maintain the flowers. There are many many types of orchids.

*Irises: Natural filter. Shadow friendly. Don’t water them that much but maintain the pot damp.

And with this inspirational picture in mind, I am now off to do some preparation work for the coming season.:   Had these beautiful purple & yellow irises growing up. My Mama's name is Iris, also.:

*Crisantemos: Air purifier. Cultivate under the sunlight but don’t keep the flower to direct contact. They don’t like water that much, so keep them away of damp. Should be pruned.

*Chamomile: perennial herb. Has very special treatments but you can plant them directly on the land and then replant them wherever you want. Should be watered regularly when it’s hot.

Best Indoor Plants - Easy Plants to Grow - House Beautiful:
*Roses: Visit a florist or a vivarium and ask what kind of roses are more apt for your clime. Sun friendly. Always take care of the roots, and water them every two weeks. Learn and ready about roses diseases.
Roses are my all time favorite flower. What could be more beautiful. So fragrant and lovely to look upon. I plant roses outside my kitchen window so I can admire them all day when they're in bloom.:

*Afelandra: Water friendly. Grows fast. Half big green leaves and half precious flower.

There are far many more interior plants or adaptive to interiors ones. There are my favorites.
Remember you can also choose to use different types of containers just as hanging ones, floor, table…

Hope this post serves you well.

It’s a modern 8-bedroom private villa that is located on the north coast of the island, in the town of Cabrera, near Playa Grande, that supports all the way the sustainable tourism.

It is elevated on a cliff of 15 meters that borders the Atlantic Ocean and is “cooled by steady ocean breezes” and beautiful views of mountains and tropical vegetation.

…The area is unspoiled by tourism: crystal-clear lakes and wide open beaches, discretely situated villas and European boutique hotels, friendly locals and outdoor merengue bars in the nearby town. It’s the essence of relaxed Caribbean beauty.” – Casa Kimbal Official Page

It was designed by architect Jasmit Singh Rangr (Rangr Studios) to satisfy the necessities and wishes of Mr. Spencer Kimball of a get-away home in the Caribbean from New York winter days.

The number of materials of construction used on this project is amazing, all very adequate, all very classy: from reinforced concrete, to Brazilian woods, polished cement, blue ceramics… All of which are perfect to define all the areas on the house. (The 20-people dining table, picture windows, the runway-style infinite pool, the bars…)

Architect Rangr has always managed his projects integrating the nature to the form itself, using clean lines, simple geometric shapes and pure modernity; and this project specially, was inspired by the breeze and the waves of the sea, designing fresh and open spaces created by the local coral stone that made this THE most authentic and unique place to spend a marvelous time at.
The house is totally open for rentals and events:
