FLIPBED: Resting bed.

Design

This furniture mixes the two biggest pieces in a bedroom: the resting bed and the working desk.

It’s multi-functional, designed for a Marketing 20-year-old student, with great features just like a bookshelf, drawers, a pin up magnetic system, wooden hooks to hold and set, and a rotation system to flip the piece in any of the two functions.

It’s a twin bed, made in White Oak, totally resistant and durable.

Industrial Kitchens

Design

Industrial Kitchens are the kind that make big amounts of food. Most of the people think, industrial kitchens are just for restaurants, but truth is, there are some many types of industrial kitchens depending on a lot of things… Really. (hospitals, hotels, restaurants, school, jails, industries, universities, bars…)

And it’s hard to believe, but to design an industrial kitchen, there are so many things you need to take into consideration… Flooring, ceiling, wall coatings, installations and furniture materials, areas, and all the things that the kitchen you are designing contains…

Depending of what type of kitchen you are designing, are the things and elements you are going to apply to your own design.
One of the main things you need to consider is organization and cleanliness. Those are the small facts that make the kitchen apt and complete, and that’s exactly why, the construction and designing materials on industrial kitchens are so very strict.
Stainless steel on furniture, industrial kitchen special paints or wall coatings. Floors with easy cleaning, specific lighting… etc.

In the other hand, the areas are what makes the kitchen complete, and the areas depend of the type of kitchen you are designing.
A spanish industrial kitchen, needs a cold storage for the seafood, meat’s dry aging…
A French industrial kitchen, needs a space to make bread.
And that’s an idea of what I’m trying to say. That’s why you need to read and learn the nature and history of the space you are going to intervene.

Something our teachers always taught us: Just because it’s a space that has to follow some strict rules to be designed, doesn’t mean you can’t get creative and design the best and most amazing space ever.

In the actual world of Interior Designing, it’s easy to redo ideas in other spaces… That’s how people remake Industrial kitchens at home with similar materials.
